Get to Know Mayor Stephanie Piko

Mayor Stephanie Piko assumed office as Centennial’s third Mayor in January of 2018 after serving for six years as a City Council Member, representing District 4. Her decision to run for City Council stemmed from a deep commitment to representing community interests, particularly in safeguarding and improving the foundational principles of the City of Centennial. During her initial term, Mayor Piko prioritized strategic planning, which laid a robust framework for Centennial’s mission, vision and values, empowering future City Councils. Mayor Piko guided strategic investments in the City’s technological resources and platforms that proved to be invaluable investments for the resilience of Centennial’s infrastructure. Now in her second term, Mayor Piko has focused on working with the community to increase engagement across Centennial through her work with non-profits that support the citizens of Centennial. From the arts, to youth/senior outreach and working to support families and those experiencing homelessness, Mayor Piko remains dedicated to implementing innovative strategies to address our most challenging issues.

Mayor Piko actively represents Centennial and Colorado communities and brings a broad background to serving the City’s interest through our finance committees, Metro Mayors Caucus Executive Board, Vice-Chair of Mile High Flood District and numerous additional commissions and committees at the regional, state and national levels.

Stephanie and her husband, Dr. James Piko, have called Centennial home since their love of the outdoors brought them back to Colorado in 2001. Their children, Austin and Conner, are proud graduates of Grandview High School, Chapman University and Colorado State University respectively. Our community has recognized Mayor Piko’s dedication by naming her the 2019 Aurora Chamber of Commerce Woman of the Year and The Villager’s 2022 Woman of the Year.
