Lone Tree Creek Regional Trail - Phase IA Construction

District: 3
Budget: 2021 - $1,000,000
Estimated Completion Date: April 2021
Status: Under construction

Project Details: Phase IA of the Lone Tree Creek Regional Trail consists of a new ten foot wide concrete trail from the north side of E. Arapahoe Road to E. Caley Avenue. The City contracted with ACC for the construction and TRC for construction management.

Project Status: Construction began in November 2020 and will continue through March 2021.

Lone Tree Creek Regional Trail - Phase IB Construction

District: 3
Budget: $2,200,000 (2021) Estimated Completion Date: 2021
Status: Design Complete

Project Details: Phase IB of the Lone Tree Creek Regional Trail will include new trail and reconstruction of trail from E. Broncos Parkway to E. Arapahoe Road with the completion of some additional trail segments. The trail will consist of an eight foot concrete trail with a two foot crusher fines shoulder.

Project Status: Construction is anticipated to begin in mid-2021.

Lone Tree Creek Regional Trail – Phase II Design

District: 3
Budget: $260,000 (2021)
Estimated Completion Date: 2022
Status: Design in progress

Project Details: Design of an eight foot wide crusher fines trail from E. Caley Avenue into the Cherry Creek State Park. The proposed trail will require two channel crossings, one at Lone Tree Creek and one at Windmill Creek. This phase also includes Lone Tree Creek channel improvements within the State Park where the creek has developed a new flow path due to erosion.

Project Status: The City has contracted with ICON Engineering, Inc. and design is in progress.

Lone Tree Creek Regional Trail – Phase III Design

District: 3
Budget: $250,000 - 50/50 split with Public Works Street Fund for a total of $500,000 (2021)
Estimated Completion Date: 2022
Status: Design anticipated to start in 2021

Project Details: Installing a new culvert under E. Arapahoe Road outside of the floodplain. This culvert would only be utilized for pedestrians and bicyclists crossing below E. Arapahoe Road. Stormwater would still be conveyed through the existing culvert that would remain in place. This option would reduce safety concerns for pedestrians during high flows and crossing E. Arapahoe Road at grade. This phase included funding from Public Works for the potential future deceleration lane to S. Revere Street.

Project Status: Design is anticipated to start in 2021.

Centennial Link Trail (East-West Regional Trail Connection)

District: City-wide
Budget: 2021 Open Space Fund - $100,000 | 2021 Street Fund: $140,000
Estimated Completion Date: 2021
Status: Design in progress

Project Details: Identify a continuous east-west bike and pedestrian trail connecting the eastern and western neighborhoods of the City. Learn more(PDF, 37MB) about the Centennial Link Trail.

Project Status: The City has contracted with FHU for the design. Design of the off-street segments of the trail were completed in December 2020. On-street segment design will begin in 2021 with an anticipated completion date of May 2021.

Centennial Link Trail – Segment 3 Construction

District: 1 and 2
Budget: $500,000 (2021)
Estimated Completion Date: 2021
Status: Design complete

Project Details: Segment 3 is the first segment requiring construction on the west side of the trail. This segment is an unfinished segment between E. Orchard Rd. and the Little Dry Creek Trail, south of the High Line Canal. Construction will include constructing a ten foot wide concrete trail from E. Orchard Rd. to the High Line Canal Trail to include one minor street crossing striping/signage at E. Orchard Rd.

Project Status: Construction is anticipated to begin in 2021.
