NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT THE CITY OF CENTENNIAL WILL CONSIDER AN ORDINANCE TO DESIGNATE THE INITIAL ZONING OF TWO (2) PARCELS TO BE WITHIN THE EMPLOYMENT CENTER – LIGHT INDUSTRIAL – 50 (EC-LI-50) ZONE DISTRICT.

The Planning and Zoning Commission (the “Commission”) will make a recommendation on the initial zoning at a public hearing on September 9, 2026 at 6 p.m. regarding the proposed establishment of initial zoning for property consisting of approximately 10.88 acres and known as the Elevation Volleyball Annexation (the “Subject Property”).

The Subject Property is currently subject to zoning as determined by Arapahoe County. Pursuant to a separate but related application concerning the Subject Property, the Subject Property is proposed for annexation into the corporate boundaries of the City of Centennial and, following the effective date of the annexation, if the annexation is approved, the Subject Property is proposed for an initial zoning designation established by the City of Centennial. This is a legislative rezoning under Section 12-14-904 of the Land Development Code (“LDC”) which is being processed in conjunction with the proposed annexation of the Subject Property to the City. The Commission will be conducting a public hearing at the above time and date prior to making a formal recommendation to City Council regarding the proposed initial zoning of the Subject Property. City Staff is currently recommending that the Subject Property be rezoned into one zone district: the Employment Center – Light Industrial – 50 (EC-LI-50) zone district.

The City Council will consider the initial zoning at a public hearing on October 6, 2026 at 7 p.m. The purpose of the public hearing on the matter of the initial zoning of the Subject Property will be to determine whether the EC-LI-50 zone district is the appropriate zone district for the Subject Property. City Staff will provide additional detail regarding the proposed initial zoning of the Subject Property at the public hearings to be held by both the Commission and City Council. 

All interested persons will be given an opportunity to be heard at the public hearings referenced above. The hearings will be held in City Council Chambers, Centennial Civic Center, 13133 E. Arapahoe Rd., Centennial, CO 80112 at the above noted date and time.

By a super majority vote of council, at the August 18, 2026 Regular City Council Meeting, this ordinance was amended to add an emergency declaration. This declaration makes the ordinance effective immediately upon adoption. There will be no 30 day referendum period as the ordinance is in effect now.

The Planning and Zoning Commission (the “Commission”) will make a recommendation on the initial zoning at a public hearing on September 9, 2026 at 6 p.m. regarding the proposed establishment of initial zoning for property consisting of approximately 10.88 acres and known as the Elevation Volleyball Annexation (the “Subject Property”).

The Subject Property is currently subject to zoning as determined by Arapahoe County. Pursuant to a separate but related application concerning the Subject Property, the Subject Property is proposed for annexation into the corporate boundaries of the City of Centennial and, following the effective date of the annexation, if the annexation is approved, the Subject Property is proposed for an initial zoning designation established by the City of Centennial. This is a legislative rezoning under Section 12-14-904 of the Land Development Code (“LDC”) which is being processed in conjunction with the proposed annexation of the Subject Property to the City. The Commission will be conducting a public hearing at the above time and date prior to making a formal recommendation to City Council regarding the proposed initial zoning of the Subject Property. City Staff is currently recommending that the Subject Property be rezoned into one zone district: the Employment Center – Light Industrial – 50 (EC-LI-50) zone district.

The City Council will consider the initial zoning at a public hearing on October 6, 2026 at 7 p.m. The purpose of the public hearing on the matter of the initial zoning of the Subject Property will be to determine whether the EC-LI-50 zone district is the appropriate zone district for the Subject Property. City Staff will provide additional detail regarding the proposed initial zoning of the Subject Property at the public hearings to be held by both the Commission and City Council. 

All interested persons will be given an opportunity to be heard at the public hearings referenced above. The hearings will be held in City Council Chambers, Centennial Civic Center, 13133 E. Arapahoe Rd. Centennial, CO 80112 at the above noted date and time.
