Get to Know Council Member Steve Carmine

District 2 Council Member Steve Carmine has called Centennial home for more than 27 years and has been involved with the City since its inception. Appointed to City Council in February 2026, he will serve the remainder of the term through January 2028. Over the past four years, Steve has volunteered with the City, serving on the Senior Commission and Budget Committee, where he gained valuable insight into City operations, projects and collaboration with City Staff and fellow Council Members.

Steve brings more than 40 years of professional experience working with organizations of all sizes, as well as cities and counties across the western United States. He also served seven years on his neighborhood board, supporting collaborative decision-making and community-focused outcomes. His prior volunteer service and familiarity with City initiatives prepared him to step into the District 2 role and continue supporting Centennial’s upward trajectory.

In his first months on Council, Steve is focused on learning as much as possible, building constructive working relationships with fellow Council Members and meeting with residents to better understand their concerns. He is committed to thoughtful preparation, active participation in Council meetings and representing District 2 in a positive and constructive manner. Steve believes culture matters and values Centennial’s strong organizational culture, which supports innovation and new ideas. He looks forward to working collaboratively to thoughtfully balance growth and preservation while maintaining the high quality of life residents expect.

Having witnessed nearly three decades of Centennial’s growth and evolution, Steve brings both perspective and pride to his role on Council. He and his family are proud to call Centennial home, and he is passionate about representing District 2 and giving back to the community that has meant so much to them.
