Get to Know Council Member Marlo Alston

Representing District 4, Council Member Marlo Alston and her husband, Bryant, have called Centennial home since 2004, along with their three children, whom Marlo cherishes spending time with—laughing and enjoying life, in addition to her friends. Marlo appreciates Centennial’s wide variety of amenities, but it's the City's renowned safety that she values the most. As she enters her second term as District 4 Council Member, Marlo is enthusiastic about continuing her service to the community. The City’s Public Safety Advisory Group, made possible through a partnership with the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office, provides a critical voice that Marlo values for Centennial’s ongoing safety. Her additional goals include maintaining the City’s governance efficiency, effectiveness and transparency while also ensuring responsiveness and accountability. Marlo looks forward to addressing topics such as mental and physical healthcare, housing, homelessness and economic impacts, bringing her compassion, understanding, innovation and experience to Centennial.

Beyond her role as District 4 Council Member Marlo is a writer who dedicates time to advocating for others when not binge-watching the latest show or movie. She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree from the University of Denver. Her passion lies in nonprofit work, where she serves as a Community Relations and Development Manager.
