Permits are required for new buildings, renovations and additions to existing buildings to ensure all structures within the City are safe to occupy. More information about checklists for residential or commercial permit submittal can be found on the Building Division page.

Step 1.Gather Required Information

Please have the following required information for applications:

  • Address of the property. (Ex: 13133 E. Arapahoe Rd.).
  • Project valuation and description. Valuation is based on labor and materials of the job.
  • Business name of licensed contractors (if applicable).
  • PDF plans and/or site plans for new, remodels and additions (PDF is the only format accepted).

Step 2.Login and Select Permit Type

First time users will need a valid email address to set up an account. It takes about 5 minutes to create a new account.

Step 3.Submit Your Application

It takes up to one business day to begin processing your application.

Once your application is submitted a permit number will be generated. 

Step 4.Payment Information

You will receive an email when the invoice and fees are available for payment.

Please log back into the Self-Service Portal, click "Dashboard," scroll down to the "My Invoices" section and add to cart. We accept Visa and MasterCard with a 3% convenience fee and E-Checks with no convenience fee.

  • Drawings can be 8.5" x 11" paper plans or PDF document on a USB.

Hours: Monday – Tuesday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.; Wednesday, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.; Thursday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Work stations are available to access the Self-Service Portal and complete your permit application.

Step 3.Submit Your Application

Once your application is submitted you will be assigned a permit number.

It takes up to one business day to begin processing your application.

You will receive an email when the invoice and fees are available for payment.
