Building Permit Review Schedule
Below is the building permit review schedule for building permit applications in Centennial. This outlines the expected business days for each of the different types of permits to ensure timely approval.
One-Stop Permits require no plan review and are considered “over the counter” permits – AC new, AC replacement, furnace, water heater, electric service change, gas line, irrigation line, residential sewer line replacement, residential reroof (not commercial or multi-family) and windows/doors (no structural changes) is one business day.
Commercial Permits
New Build Commercial - for new commercial and additions is 15 business days after the plan review fee is paid.
Alterations, miscellaneous, tenant improvement, low voltage, and temporary or accessory structures are 10 business days after the plan review fee is paid.
Reroof, stand-alone demolition permits and renewable energy are five business days after the plan review fee is paid.
Multi-Family Permits
New Build Multi-Family – new multi-family is 15 business days after the plan review fee is paid.
Alterations, reroofs, low voltage, miscellaneous, temporary or accessory structure, swimming pool/spa and demolition are 10 business days after the plan review fee is paid.
Renewable energy is five business days after the plan review fee is paid.
Residential Permits
New Build Residential – new residential is 15 business days after the plan review fee is paid.
Additions, temporary or accessory structures and swimming pool/spa are 10 business days after the plan review fee is paid.
Alterations, basement finish, deck/pergola/patio cover, demolition, miscellaneous, renewable energy and windows/doors (with structural changes) is five business days after the plan review fee is paid.
Additional Information
Timelines for first comments begin upon receipt of a complete submittal.
The review of re-submittals and revisions for new construction will be 10 days and all other permits will be 5 business days.
Pre-submittal meetings are highly encouraged by staff at the City of Centennial (for any size/type of project) in order to ensure that all interested parties are given the opportunity to obtain and discuss City policies and guidelines.
