Apply or Renew a Liquor License

The City Clerk's Office manages liquor license applications for Centennial; however, these applications require approval from both the City of Centennial and the Colorado Department of Revenue, Liquor Enforcement Division. For more information regarding State requirements visit the Colorado Department of Revenue Liquor Enforcement's website.

Apply for a New Liquor License

New application requirements:

  • Register for a Customer Self-Service Portal Account to apply for a license and pay required fees.
  • Obtain fingerprints following the IdentoGo fingerprinting instructions, after obtaining a unique code from the Licensing Specialist. Please email the Licensing Specialist for your unique code.
  • For new liquor licenses, there is a requirement to assess the needs and desires of the neighborhood. This is often and most clearly proven through a petitioning process.

Applicants should allow a minimum of 60-90 days to complete the process. Matters requiring a Public Hearing are decided by the Centennial Liquor Licensing Authority.

Renew a Liquor License

The State will send a Renewal Application approximately 60 to 90 days before the expiration of the current license. Renewal Applications and fees must be submitted to Centennial no later than 45 days before the current license expires.

Step 1.Licensing Requirements

Items required for a NEW license include:

  • A current Retail Sales Tax License with the City of Centennial. Apply for a retail sales tax license
  • Approval from the Centennial Liquor Licensing Authority
  • Approval from the State of Colorado, Department of Revenue, Liquor Enforcement Division
  • Certificate of Good Standing from Colorado Secretary of State
  • Completed Petition
  • All applicable forms completed

It takes up to 60 - 90 days to complete the process for a Liquor License.

Step 5.What to Expect

Once your completed application is received, the Licensing Specialist will review the materials and will contact you directly for questions. Approved licenses will be issued via the application portal. Please allow sufficient time for review and processing.
