City of Centennial Announces City Council Vacancy

The City of Centennial is accepting applications to fill a vacancy on City Council following the election of former Council Member Christine Sweetland as Mayor.

The vacancy represents District 2, and the appointed Council Member will serve the remainder of the term, ending January 2028, in accordance with the City Charter.

Interested residents must be registered voters who have resided in District 2 for at least one year and meet all the eligibility requirements outlined in the City Charter. The City Council will appoint the selected applicant at a future public meeting.

Applications must be received by 5 p.m. on January 30, 2026. The online application, the City’s district map to confirm residency, required materials, and additional information about the appointment process are available at centennialco.gov/election.

The City encourages eligible residents who are interested in serving their community and contributing to Centennial’s governance to apply.
