Free Christmas Tree and Light Recycling

The City of Centennial, in partnership with Trails Park and Recreation District and South Suburban Parks and Recreation District, is once again making it easy for residents to recycle their Christmas trees and holiday string lights after the season ends.
Beginning December 26, 2025, residents may drop off clean, undecorated Christmas trees and holiday string lights daily from sunrise to sunset at designated locations. Christmas trees will be chipped on site, and free mulch will be available for residents to take while supplies last. Additional details are below.

Available December 26, 2025 through January 13, 2026
Christmas Tree Recycling Locations
East Side Tree Recycling
Tree drop-off begins December 26, 2025. Trees will be chipped as needed from December 29, 2025 through January 12, 2026.
Residents may take wood chips and mulch at will, beginning January 1, 2026 until site cleanup on January 13, 2026.
West Side Recycling
Tree Recycling Only – No String Lights.
Available December 26, 2025 through January 16, 2026.
Know Before You Go
- All lights, decorations, and stands must be removed from trees prior to drop-off.
- Artificial trees and flocked trees will not be accepted.
- Free mulch is available on a first-come, first-served basis at Lookout Park and Piney Creek Hollow Park while supplies last.
