Get to Know Council Member Cindy Sandhu

District 1 Council Member Cindy Sandhu is deeply rooted in Centennial. Born and raised in the Liberty Hill neighborhood, she is now raising her three children in the same community that shaped her childhood. A graduate of the University of Colorado Boulder, Cindy’s commitment to service began early and has carried through more than 30 years of volunteerism and community involvement. Her two and a half years in the Peace Corps, serving as an environmental volunteer in the Dominican Republic, strengthened her dedication to stewardship, cultural connection and public service. Fluent in both English and Spanish, she continues to use her skills to support families, newcomers and community organizations.

Cindy has spent decades helping strengthen community bonds, from her early volunteer work at a neighborhood nursing home to supporting immigrant reunification efforts with Casa de Paz and participating in local Get Out the Vote initiatives. Her passion for Community, good governance and transparency drives her belief that Centennial is strongest when residents feel safe, welcomed, and connected. Her goals for her first term will focus on preserving Centennial’s quality of life while bringing people together to build a collaborative and future-minded community.

Beyond her public service, Cindy’s greatest joy is raising her family in the open spaces and neighborhoods she’s loved since childhood. Her lived experiences—both locally and abroad—shape her commitment to ensuring Centennial remains a place where every resident can thrive.
