Trash and Utilities
The City does not provide water, sewer, electricity, gas, cable, internet or telephone service. For more information regarding these services please contact the following companies.
Gas and Electric
Xcel Energy and CORE Electric Cooperative (Formerly IREA) provide gas and electricity utilities to the area.
Trash Pick-Up and Recycling
Trash and recycling services are provided by private companies in the City of Centennial, with each provider operating on their own pick up schedule. Some HOAs throughout the City have contracted with one trash provider in an effort to receive favorable rates and reduce truck traffic in neighborhoods. If you are interested in organizing one trash provider for your neighborhood, look at the Neighborhood Trash Collection Toolkit(PDF, 361KB) for insight into the process, a survey for neighbors and tips for creating proposals for potential vendors.
The City of Centennial is partnering with Englewood, Littleton and Sheridan (collectively referred to as South Metro) to explore opportunities to expand waste and recycling access, programs and services. The South Metro Waste Diversion Study includes outreach to private haulers, residents, elected officials and businesses. When complete, the Study will also include a Waste Composition Study quantifying the types and amounts of waste generated in our region. The project, funded by a grant from the Front Range Waste Diversion Enterprise Grant Fund, began in January 2024 and will continue through December 2025. To learn more, visit South Metro Waste Diversion.

Telephone, Internet and Cable
Decisions about phone and cable services should be made by the homeowner, keeping in mind providers vary throughout the area, and each may offer different services.
Water and Sanitation Services
Water and sanitary sewer service is provided by several different water and sanitation districts for Centennial residents.
Use the Centennial Property Search to help you locate the water and sanitation district(s) serving your address.

Denver Water Lead Reduction Program
Centennial gets much of it’s water through Denver Water distributors.
Although the water that Denver Water provides to customers is lead-free, lead can enter the water as it moves through lead-containing household fixtures, plumbing and water service lines owned by the customer. Denver Water’s Lead Reduction Program, which was approved by the EPA and CDPHE in late 2019, officially launched in spring 2020.
