Request Removal of a Dead Animal

Are you looking for help with a dead animal? Learn when and how the City can help remove a dead animal.

What you need to do depends on the type of animal, and where it is located.

Step 1.Required Information

You must provide:

  • Type of animal
  • Location of the animal
  • Your name
  • Your contact information

Step 2.If the animal is on a public spaces – the sidewalk, street

Submit your concern on our Report a Problem page.

Step 3.If the animal is on private property - a single-family residential property

You MUST be the residential property owner or tenant. 

These types of animals are eligible:

  • Medium-sized or larger animals
  • Animals such as raccoons, foxes, coyotes, deer and other wildlife of a similar size
  • Stray dogs and cats*

* If the owner of a stray pet is identified by the City, the City may bill the owner for the cost of removal.

These types of animals are NOT eligible:

  • Pets
  • Small animals, such as birds, squirrels and rabbits

Note: The City does not pick up animals on multi-family residential or commercial properties.
