Apply or Renew a Contractor License

To build or renovate properties in the City of Centennial, contractors must be registered to verify their certification. Contractor registration protects homeowners and the city from legal liability. It also insures the structural integrity of our buildings.

Online

Step 1.Create an Account

First time users will need a valid email address to set up an account. It takes about 5 minutes to create a new account.

Please have the following required documents ready to upload:

  • Your business's General Liability certificate of insurance with the City of Centennial as the certificate holder
  • Your business's Worker's Compensation certificate of insurance with the City of Centennial as the certificate holder, or a City of Centennial Waiver(PDF, 223KB)
  • Testing credentials if necessary

Step 2.Select Professional License Type

  • Login to the self service portal
  • Select the type of license you want

Step 3.Submit Your Application

It takes up to one business day to process your application.

Once your application is submitted a contractor's license number will be assigned.

Step 4.Payment Information

You will receive an email when the invoice and fees are available.

Please log back into the Online Self Service Portal, scroll down to the "My Invoices" section and add to cart. We accept Visa and MasterCard with a 3% convenience fee and E-Checks with no convenience fee.

In Person

Hours: Monday – Tuesday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.; Wednesday, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.; Thursday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Work stations are available to access the Online Permit Portal & complete your professional license application.

Step 3.Submit your application

Step 4.Pay Online

You will receive an email when the invoice and fees are available.

  • Provide ICC testing or current Denver or Aurora contractor licenses for: Class A, Class B, Class C, and HVAC.
  • Electrical and plumbing contractors must provide current DORA State and Master licenses.
