Traffic Box Art Wrap Program

In 2021, the City launched a Traffic Box Art Wrap pilot program to enhance community character, celebrate Centennial’s identity and connect public art to the City's history. As part of this program, vinyl murals inspired by Centennial’s mission, vision and values, were created and installed on 20 of the 88 traffic control boxes owned by the City. 

In 2023 and 2024, the Centennial Arts and Cultural Foundation partnered with the City to showcase their creativity by designing additional traffic box wraps throughout Centennial. This resulted in the installation of 12 more traffic box wraps.

In 2025, the Centennial Arts and Cultural Foundation invited community artists to display their creativity in the 2025 Traffic Box Wrap Contest which closed March 2, 2025. Winners will be announced in the Fall. 

The traffic box art is meant to contribute to the vitality and attractiveness of our community, deter graffiti, add to the vibrancy of our cityscape and create a sense of place and identity.

Locations

Designs have been intentionally distributed geographically across Centennial to be enjoyed by all residents. For the initial year, reports of graffiti removal from the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office helped influence location selection. Currently there are 32 traffic box wraps completed throughout Centennial.
