National Public Works Week May 19-25, 2024; Advancing quality of life for all

Get ready to rev up the excitement as Centennial joins cities nationwide in celebrating National Public Works Week from May 19th to 25th! This year's theme, “Advancing Quality of Life for All,” underscores the dedication of Public Works professionals to enhance communities for a healthier, happier and more accessible tomorrow.

In the spirit of celebration, Centennial invites residents of all ages to an exciting "Touch-a-Truck" event on Wednesday, May 22, from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Smoky Hill Library (5430 S. Biscay Cir.). Get hands-on with a variety of public works equipment and vehicles, courtesy of the City of Centennial in partnership with the Arapahoe Library District and the Southeast Metro Stormwater Authority (SEMSWA).

During this special week, Centennial proudly salutes its dedicated Public Works Staff and partners who keep the community running smoothly every day. With a unique framework built on efficiency and resourcefulness, Centennial collaborates with premier partners like Jacobs Engineering, providing essential public works services from code compliance to 24/7 resident support. Additionally, SEMSWA has been a vital partner in managing drainage and flood control facilities since 2007, working closely with water and sanitation districts to serve the City.
