Do you use Big Dry Creek and Centennial Link Trails?
Upcoming construction activities may temporarily alter your use of these trails. Keep reading to learn more.
Construction activities are underway in both the western and eastern halves of Segment 1 (Greenwood Village to Englewood). See the segment map.
Removing incompatible vegetation around and between structure locations (trimming, mowing, cutting, pruning).
Installing temporary access roads to allow for the safe transport of materials and equipment to the utility easement.
Installing erosion and sediment controls to protect waterbodies from stormwater runoff and promote soil conservation during and after construction.
Removing/relocating encroachments within and along the edge of the easement that impede construction.
Removing vegetation around and between structure locations.
Pedestrians and cyclists, please be aware that construction activities this summer will affect areas along Big Dry Creek and Centennial Link Trails. Look for signage and follow this newsletter and the project website for dates and locations of closures and/or detours.
This will also affect sections of trail at Belleview Park and Progress Park.
We are working with South Suburban Parks and Recreation District and the City of Englewood Parks Department on a trail plan and will do our best to minimize how long these trails are closed or rerouted, and to notify trail users and neighbors as far in advance as we can.
Active construction areas are busy with moving equipment and crew members focused on their work. Physical barriers and signage are placed around work areas for your safety and theirs. Please pay attention and follow work zone and trail closure signage.
If you see something in the work zone that causes concern, do not approach crew members or enter the construction area. Please call 303-294-2726 or email.
