Get to Know Mayor Stephanie Piko

Mayor Stephanie Piko and her husband, Dr. James Piko, have been married since 1992 after meeting in Winter Park, CO. The Pikos have called Centennial home since their love for the outdoors brought them here in 2001 to raise their children, Austin and Conner. As active members in both Centennial and Colorado communities, running for City Council offered Stephanie the opportunity to represent community interests—especially the chance to protect and enhance the governmental structures and principles that founded the City of Centennial. As a result, a large part of her first term as Mayor focused on Strategic Planning to help solidify Centennial's mission, vision and values, providing the framework for future City Councils to lean on. Throughout her second term, Stephanie will work to ensure Centennial’s resilience and success through the implementation of innovative approaches to solid governance.

Before becoming Mayor, Stephanie was a technology instructor for the Cherry Creek School District (CCSD), where she continues to substitute teach. Stephanie holds a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Florida and a B.S. in Environmental Biology from the University of Michigan. Having grown up on the west coast of Florida, she appreciates beautiful sunsets, which she also finds in Centennial—something everyone can share! Stephanie is The Villager's 2022 Woman of the Year and the Aurora Chamber of Commerce's 2019 Woman of the Year.
