Get to Know Council Member Candace Moon

District 1 Council Member Candace Moon and her husband have called Centennial home since 1992. The Moon’s moved to unincorporated Arapahoe County from Fort Worth, TX, after the family retired from the U.S. Air Force (USAF). The search for their Centennial home took over a year—but it was worth the wait! Council Member Moon and her family enjoy living in Centennial as its suburban atmosphere is conducive to raising a family in a safe environment. In addition, the access to great schools, friendly neighborhoods and convenient retail—combined with easy access to recreation areas and employment opportunities—make residing in Centennial a wonderful experience. Council Member Moon reflects on the diverse and inclusive experiences she’s had in Centennial when working with fellow Council Members to continue ensuring Centennial thrives and remains a welcoming and safe place for all to live.

She is committed to listening to Centennial residents and serving their and the City’s best interests. In her second term, Council Member Moon works for Centennial’s continued low tax rates, debt-free nature and maintaining the benefits of good property values.

Candace Moon is retired after more than 33 years of Federal Service and is a (Silver) life member of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) and the Tuskegee Airmen, Inc., Hubert L. “Hooks” Jones Chapter, Denver—in addition to her service to be a Veteran of the USAF. She is a graduate of the University of Denver and holds a Master of Applied Communication Degree and certification in Alternative Dispute Resolution.
