Candace Moon

Council Member, District 1

When did you move to Centennial?

I moved to what is now Centennial in September 1992.

Why did you move here?

We re-located from Fort Worth, TX, starting in July 1991 due to employment with final relocation in October 1991. It took over a year to find suitable housing in this area of unincorporated Arapahoe county (now Centennial).

What do you like most about living in Centennial?

We like Centennial because it is a suburban area that has the convenience of urban living with the close proximity of schools in neighborhoods; retail that is close by and convenient and an easy commute to recreation areas and work.  The City has a friendly feel and it is easy to feel safe and relaxed.

Why did you decide to run for City Council?

Centennial is a diverse and inclusive community. Our representatives need to reflect that diversity. We need to have people on council who will continue to make sure our City thrives, remains inclusive and a safe, equal and equitable place for all to live.

What are your primary goals as a Council Member?

I am committed to listening to what our residents are saying and act in the City’s best interest and the residents’ best interest. I want our City to continue to have a low tax rate, remain debt free and maintain the benefits of good property values.
