Arapahoe Bridge over Big Dry Creek Replacement Project
The reconstruction of the bridge over Big Dry Creek Road on Arapahoe Rd., east of University Blvd. is overall complete. The enhanced bridge features wider lanes and a taller structure, significantly improving safety for the traveling public.
Project Update
Work hours are 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday. Please pay attention while driving in the work zone and never drive distracted. All construction activities are weather-dependent and subject to change for the safety of crews and the traveling public.

Construction Impacts:
- Ongoing – Crews will continue stream stabilization efforts under the bridge and on the trail, and complete Xcel utility work. The trail will remain closed while South Arapahoe Sanitation District begins work to line the existing sanitary lines through the project. Due to ongoing trail work and other construction activity, the trail under Arapahoe Road is anticipated to remain closed until late April.

When complete this project will:
- Replace the existing bridge with a wider and taller structure
- Improve pedestrian access over and around the bridge
- Make improvements to the Big Dry Creek drainage and waterway system
