Due to the transition from the Legacy Permitting System to the new EnerGov Online Permitting System, permit review times may be slightly longer than the advertised windows at this time. Please bear with us as we transition fully into the new system, and we will process all permits as quickly as possible. If you are experiencing issues linking your new user name to a previously submitted permit (prior to August 20, 2018), please send an email to energov@centennialco.gov or call 303.754.3321.

Building permits and inspections are required for new buildings, renovations and additions to existing buildings to ensure all structures within the City are safe to occupy.

Types of Permits

There are many types of building permits based upon the construction and improvements you are seeking to do. However, there are two types of permits the City typically issues:

To get started, review the various project guides for assistance. When ready, an application for a Building Permit can be made using the online Self-Service Portal.

One-Stop Permits

One-Stop Permits are generally routine in nature and can be issued online within one business day, such as re-roofing, water heaters, furnace, new windows, etc. An inspection can be scheduled upon completion using the online Self-Service Portal.
