Arapahoe I-25 InterchangeArapahoe Road/I-25 Interchange

The Colorado Department of Transportation has partnered with Arapahoe County, the cities of Centennial and Greenwood Village, and the Southeast Public Improvement Metropolitan District to improve the I-25 and Arapahoe Road interchange to reduce congestion and improve traffic operations and safety. Substantial completion is slated for summer 2018.

Bloomberg Innovation TeamBloomberg Philanthropies Innovation Team

In 2014, Centennial was selected as one of 12 U.S. cities to participate in the $45 million expansion of Bloomberg Philanthropies’ Innovation Team program, which aims to improve the capacity of cities to effectively design and implement new approaches that improve citizens’ lives.

Centennial FiberWorksCentennial FiberWorks | Fiber Optic Master Plan

In 2013, Centennial voters overwhelmingly supported the City’s intention to create a new fiber broadband infrastructure for the City. In March, 2016, the Centennial City Council approved a Fiber Master plan and allocated $5.7 million for its implementation. The plan is taking shape and includes the build-out of approximately 50 miles of new backbone fiber. Construction is expected to start before the end of 2016; with an estimated 18 to 24 months until the entire City’s fiber backbone build is complete.

Centennial NEXT is a 12-18 month initiative that engages the public in defining a shared vision for the City between now and 2030. Centennial NEXT’s planning process will help ensure the community’s values align with the City’s roadmap for development so that Centennial thrives well into the future.

Dry Creek/I-25 InterchangeDry Creek/I-25 Interchange Study

Over the next 25 years and beyond, the I-25/Dry Creek Road interchange and corridor between Yosemite Street and Easter Avenue will serve as an important facility for both local and regional travel.  Arapahoe County, in conjunction with the City of Centennial and the Southeast Public Improvement Metropolitan District, is conducting the I-25/Dry Creek Road Interchange and Corridor Study  to consider short-term and long-term improvements to address peak period congestion along the corridor.

The City of Centennial will hold a non-partisan municipal General Election on Tuesday, November 7, 2017. Centennial voters will elect five seats on the nine-member City Council including a Mayor and a Council Member from each of the four districts.
